A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF RILEY, KANSAS, FROM A PORTION OF K.S.A. 15-209, RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF CITY OFFICERS.

SECTION 1. That the City of Riley, Kansas, under authority of Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to exempt itself from a portion of K.S.A. 15-209, with regards to appointment of City Officers, insofar as said statute may require that City Officers be qualified electors of said City.

SECTION 2. The appointed City Officers of the City of Riley, Kansas, need not be qualified electors of the City of Riley, Kansas, and may reside outside the City limits of Riley, Kansas. The appointed City Officers shall, however, reside in Riley County, Kansas.
